Robby's first recollection of painting dates back to when he was just 8 years old. He received a paint-by-number set as a Christmas gift, and he remembers feeling an exhilarating rush, convinced he had mastered a new talent. Throughout his childhood, he found great joy in exploring the creative outlets of drawing and painting.
As an adult, he derives immense pleasure from walking through art galleries, often dragging his wife along. With a playful grin, he would exclaim that he could paint as well as any artist, humorously asserting, “I could do that!” His comments ultimately led his wife to gift him painting lessons for Christmas in 2007, marking the beginning of his formal journey with Ron Hedrick. Under Ron's guidance, he painted for many years, eager to learn and grow. After Ron moved away, he continued to develop his skills under the watchful eye of Janis Eaglesham, and more recently, he has been learning from Gina Rubin.
Traveling the world with his wife has provided an incredible source of inspiration for his art. As they wander through different cities and countries, absorbing the unique cultures, landscapes, and architecture, he finds joy in capturing those moments on canvas. Each painting becomes a personal reflection of their shared experiences, allowing him to preserve the beauty of each adventure.
